There are SO MANY great books releasing this spring! Here are ten that I can’t wait to get my grubby book loving fingers on.
This post does contain affiliate links. I will receive a small amount from any purchases made.

Field Notes on Love by Jennifer E. Smith was released on March 5. Smith’s books have always been some of my favorites. She always manages to write the most lovable characters and most swoony meet cutes I’ve ever read. Field Notes was no exception.

How to Make Friends with the Dark by Kathleen Glasgow releases April 9. This cover is jaw dropping, and after Girl in Pieces, I’ll absolutely read anything Glasgow writes. I have a feeling this is going to be one that punches me directly in the feels, and I’m so ready for it.

Fame Adjacent by Sarah Skilton releases April 9. This one is supposed to be full of 90s nostalgia and features a child star that was left behind. I was born in 1993, so I don’t remember the 90s a lot, but I feel that time period in my soul. The publisher was kind enough to grant me an eARC on NetGalley, and unfortunately I didn’t love it. Read my review and decided for yourself if it needs to be on your shelf.

Hot Dog Girl by Jennifer Dugan releases April 30. Every time I see this cover I chuckle, and I’m already pretty sure that Lou is going to be the most relatable character I’ve ever read.

Laura Dean Keeps Breaking Up with Me by Mariko Tamaki releases May 7. One of the first graphic novels I read was Tamaki’s This One Summer, so she will always be a favorite of mine. The synopsis promises the ditching of toxic relationships in favor of healthy ones, and I’m all about that self love.

How It Feels to Float by Helena Fox releases May 7. This is Fox’s debut novel and it features LGBTQIAP+ themes as well as mental health rep. The second I saw this cover I was instantly hooked and knew it was going to be right up my alley.

With the Fire on High by Elizabeth Acevedo releases May 7. Ya’ll, I’m ridiculously happy that we’re finally getting some diverse book covers. I don’t see enough books featuring cooking, so I’m looking forward to reading about all the things I could make but never will.

The Goodbye Summer by Sarah Van Name releases May 7. Not sure why, but books featuring characters working in gift shops during the summer always call to me. Plus, it features one of the strongest f/f platonic friendships I’ve ever seen. Thanks to the publisher, I was given access to an eARC on NetGalley, and I loved it so much. Read my review and then, hopefully, add it to your TBR!

Birthday by Meredith Russo releases May 21. The story takes place on only one day each year, which is a concept I enjoy. Russo’s If I Was Your Girl was a difficult but necessary read, and I’m ready to see how she shatters me with Birthday.

These Witches Don’t Burn by Isabel Sterling releases May 28. Featuring queer rep, witches, and suspense, I think it’s obvious why I can’t wait to read this one. And the fact that it’s a series which means we’ll be getting more gay witches just makes me want to scream in excitement!
What books are you most looking forward to this spring? Let me know in the comments!

I haven’t heard anything about How It Feels to Float but it ended up on my TBR immediately when I saw that cover and premise. It really does sound great.
And These Witches Don’t Burn! Hot Dog Girl! 2019 looks like such a good year for f/f releases, I can’t wait.
I’m really anticipating With the Fire on High as well, I loved The Poet X and I’m sure this will be just as good (…also, that cover.)
Great list!

How to Make Friends with the Dark is on my list, too! I’m definitely look forward to it (even though it’s obviously going to destroy my feels). Omg, These Witches Don’t Burn sounds fantastic. Why haven’t I heard of this before?! Couldn’t add it to my TBR fast enough. xD

Awww man. I can’t wait to get to that! One of my favorite comedy authors has another book coming out next month, so I think maybe I’ll line those up back-to-back so I have something lighter to read after it to maybe put some of my feels back into place. xD

You’ll definitely need it after How to Make Friends With the Dark for sure. What comedy author do you like?

The author is G.S. Denning. They write the Warlock Holmes series, which is a parody of Sherlock Holmes with magic and comedy. I just can’t get enough of it!

That sounds so fun! I’ll definitely have to look into that series.
