Sunday Stacks Week Eight

I’ve had two weeks to complete the last TBR I shared with you aaaaaand I didn’t do it…. The worst reading slump I’ve experienced in a long time is still going strong. It’s given me time to eliminate some things from my Netflix list, but I’m more than ready to get back to hitting the books. I’m hoping this will be the magic week.

Here’s a look at my last planned TBR and what will hopefully get read this week.

Screen Queens just wasn’t anywhere near as good as I was hoping it would be. This is one that had so much potential and unfortunately for me it ended up falling flat. Though, the last 20 percent of the story was really good! I wish the entire thing had the power the last part did. I’ll have a full review going up tomorrow that will explain more of why this one just didn’t work for me.

I’m actually a little bit over halfway through Let’s Talk About Love and I am absolutely loving it. Alice is such a fun character. Her humor is perfect and exactly what makes me laugh. Claire Kann’s writing style couldn’t be better, too. I feel like if I wasn’t in the middle of a reading slump I would have read this in one sitting. It’s also teaching me a lot about myself and that’s something I was not expecting at all.

Unfortunately, I didn’t even get around to touching Bloodleaf last week. But I’m telling myself that’s okay. I’m still interested in reading it and I’m trying to stay positive throughout this slump. Hopefully I’ll be able to make it a priority soon. If you’ve read this one already, let me know in the comments what you thought about it? I know I’ve heard that it’s good, but I don’t know any specifics as to why anybody liked it.

I was surprised by an early finished copy of The Echo Park Castaways from the publisher last week! I hadn’t heard of this upcoming middle grade novel until I found it in my mailbox, but I’m really looking forward to it. This sounds like it’s going to be right up my alley with what I’m hoping is going to be a found family theme and it’s always fun to read a book I know nothing about.

These Witches Don’t Burn is the book I chose for my June Book of the Month box. I’ve been looking forward to reading this since a few months before it released. I’m really hoping I’ll be able to move past my reading slump because I really don’t want to wait to read this any longer. So many good things have been said about it already and I’m having a serious case of FOMO.

What book(s) are you hoping to read this week? Let me know in the comments!
