Ten Most Recent… Bookshelf Additions

It’s been a while since I did a Top Ten Tuesday, but this was a topic I couldn’t pass up! I love seeing what books people have recently acquired (if you have a recent haul post link it in the comments!) which means I also enjoy sharing mine.

Money has been incredibly tight for my family lately so I don’t actually get too many new books. The ones I do get right now are typically from publishers or if I manage to win a giveaway. I have received some in the past couple months, though, and here they are!

I’ve been wanting to read Red, White & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston for almost a year now. Especially with how much literally everybody raves about how incredible it is. One of my dear friends, Marissa, sent it to me for Christmas and I’m planning on prioritizing it next month!

Y’all know I’m not one for fantasy, but Spellhacker by M.K. England seems more like realistic fantasy? I’m looking forward to diving into this future world full of magic and heists. Plus, it’s queer, and really that’s enough right there to make me want to read it.

Dear Martin was such an important story and I’m ready to finally get to read Odd One Out by Nic Stone. I’ve seen some mixed reviews but I’m looking forward to it!

Sometimes I just need an early 2010s contemporary to reset my reading pallet which is where The Probability of Miracles by Wendy Wunder comes in. It’s kind of hard to believe it has been out for nine years and I haven’t read it yet.

A really huge thank you to Julie to sending me her extra copies of these after she saw them on my wishlist!

Rachel Lynn Solomon, author of You’ll Miss Me When I’m Gone, Our Year of Maybe, and the upcoming Today Tonight Tomorrow, ran a giveaway for both The Last Confession of Autumn Casterly by Meredith Tate and Together We Caught Fire by Eva V. Gibson back in November and I won! She described these two as intense and gripping in different ways. Look for reviews of them coming up soon!

The publisher sent me a beautiful early finished copy of What I Want You to See by Catherine Linka! I adore this cover and it was so nice to see it on a hardcover. I’ll try and get a picture up on my bookstagram soon!

All of the YA Book of the Month selections were amazing for January and it was really hard to choose only one. I finally decided to go with Throw Like a Girl by Sarah Henning because I’m a sucker for a good contemporary – especially if sports are thrown in too.

Anybody that really knows me knows how I feel about Gayle Forman’s books. Her stories are just right for me. If I Stay is my favorite because it was the first I read and I always happen to reread it when I’m going through some difficult stuff so it feels like it’s always there for me.

I collect any edition of Forman’s books I can so a huge thank you to Tylia for adding the mini edition to my shelf and my mother-in-law for the mass market edition!

What is the last book you added to your shelf? Do you want to know more of my most recents – things I’ve watched on Netflix, apps I’ve used, etc.? Let me know in the comments!

  1. That’s a great collection you got there! I’ve been wanting to get my hands on Red, White & Royal Blue too but haven’t gotten there yet. Hopefully soon.
