Sunday Stacks #19

I thought my slump was over last time I shared a TBR…but I was wrong. This time I think it’s for real though! I’ve been reading again and it has been absolutely wonderful.

My slump put me a bit behind on my review copies (why did everything have to release all at once on January 7?) but I’m slowly getting caught up. Some reviews are just going to be late – but I’ll get there! Here are the three books I’m hoping to read and write reviews for this week…

I remember hearing so many great things about Hannah Capin’s debut, The Dead Queens Club, last year which has made me incredibly excited to read Foul is Fair! This is the very first unsolicited ARC I ever received so even if I end up not loving the story (though I feel like I will) it will always hold a very special place in my heart.

Sunday Stacks Week Eighteen

I read a lot during the first half of November and not so much during the second. When December started I was in a really big reading mood and told myself I wanted to get twenty books read this month but then it took me a week to finish my first book…

Here’s a look at how my last TBR went and what I’m hoping to read this week to get back into the swing of things.

Hearts, Strings, and Other Breakable Things by Jacqueline Firkins was a huge letdown for me. Overall it was incredibly repetitive and I didn’t find any of the characters to be enjoyable. It’s a retelling of Mansfield Park by Jane Austen so maybe I would have enjoyed it more if I was familiar with that story? This just wasn’t the book for me though and though I’m disappointed I’m also okay with it. Read my full review by clicking here.

Sunday Stacks Week Seventeen

Happy end/beginning of the week! I never know which one Sunday is…

I read so many books this week! It’s been a while since I’ve been able to say that and oh it is so nice. When I made my short TBR last week and then five hours later decided to also participate in the Stranger Things readathon I was afraid I was setting myself up to enter a slump by putting too much pressure on myself. The odds were in my favorite though and instead I’ve been so motivated!

Here’s a look at the last Sunday Stacks TBR, how it went, and what I’m hoping to read this next week.

Also, did you notice that the seventeenth week of this series is being posted on the seventeenth day of the month? Because I did. And I love little coincidences like that.

Sunday Stacks Week Sixteen

You probably thought this feature was dead and never to be seen again, huh? Nope! My blogging schedule has just been a little full and crazy lately so I had to temporarily cut it. But Sunday Stacks is back, baby!

I’m not even going to bother doing a recap of the last one like I normally do considering it has been two months… Instead, let’s jump right into what I’m planning on reading this week!

Normally, I read ARCs in the order they need to be reviewed, but if you think for even a second I’ll be able to keep myself from reading More Than Maybe by Erin Hahn right this second then you are sorely mistaken. I am incredibly grateful to have been sent this by the publisher and I literally cried when I opened the package. This is my most anticipated book of 2020. I haven’t even read it yet and it already means so much to me. Welcome to my heart, Luke and Vada.

Sunday Stacks Week Fifteen

It’s been a couple of weeks since my last Sunday Stacks post because I’ve been so busy I didn’t have much time to read. This week should be a bit calmer so I’m hoping I’ll be able to get back into the swing of things.

Here’s a look at how the last TBR went and what I’m hoping to read this week!

Holy guacamole this was so good! I loved Imposters but Shatter City felt like it had more of the essence and personality from Uglies. Scott Westerfeld’s books have always been a great examination of where the world is at and the direction it’s going and Shatter City is no exception. You can read my full review if you want to know more of my thoughts! In short though it was great ad I really can’t wait for book three.
