One of the best things about reading, for me, is learning about a new place. Whether it’s fictional or real, it’s so much fun to see where the characters call home, hang out, or pass through. Here are ten places mentioned in books that I’d love to visit.
Genovia from The Princess Diaries by Meg Cabot
Thornfield Hall from Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte
Space from On a Sunbeam by Tillie Walden
Luna from The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer
The Smoke from Uglies by Scott Westerfeld
Glatt’s Laundry from Sheets by Brenna Thummler
Miss Qiunzella Thiskwin Penniquiqul Thistle Crumpet’s Camp for Hardcore Lady Types from Lumberjanes by Noelle Stevenson
Tuscany from Love & Gelato by Jenna Evans Welch
Henley, Maine from This is What Happy Looks Like by Jennifer E. Smith
Forks, Washington from Twilight by Stephanie Meyer
What are some places you’ve read about that you would like to visit? Do we have any in common? Let me know in the comments!
If you are interested in finding out more about one of the books listed, all links will take you to the book’s Goodreads page.

I almost put Tuscany because of Love & Gelato. I loved that book and it did make me want to travel there. Great choices

I had never felt a pull towards Italy until reading Love & Gelato. The author did such a fantastic job of transporting me there while still sitting on my couch, that now I’m dying to experience it in person!

I love traveling, but I’m terrified of flying, so unless it’s within the US and I can drive there, I’m stuck to traveling through books!

Thornfield Hall does sound like it would be a pretty place to visit.

Uglies was one of the first series that I devoured over and over, I could never get enough of it! It took a while for me to find a picture to use in representation of the Smoke though. I’m still not ever completely happy with the one I have. None of them looked or felt like what the Smoke does in the books!

Haha- now I’m even more intrigued. Devoured over and over is pretty high endorsement!

I hope you give the series a chance and love it as much as I do!

I definitely will. I actually didn’t even realize it was a series!

Yes! There are four in the original series and then the author just started another series that is separate, but still in the same world.
