Books at the End of the Rainbow: Blue Edition

Before May flowers, we get the April showers. I really love rainy days (it’s number 26 on my list of happy things), maybe because it gives me blue vibes which is my favorite color. To be more specific, my favorite color is cerulean, but all blues are good. So, to celebrate the April showers, I’m going to be sharing 15 of my favorite blue books with you!

The Goodbye Summer by Sarah Van Name – This book releases May 7, and it completely caught me off guard! It features one of the strongest platonic female friendships I’ve ever read, and it absolutely needs to be on your TBR this summer. Read my full review!

Sheets by Brenna Thummler – Holy. Moly. This middle grade graphic novel blew me away. It’s full of so much emotion and gives an incredible and honest look at grief. Brenna Thummler quickly became an auto-buy author for me. Read my full review!

Lumberjanes: The Moon is Up by Mariko Tamaki – I loooove the Lumberjanes graphic novels, it was one of the first series that got me into comics. Mariko Tamaki is incredible, and I’m so glad she wrote novelizations of the series!

Falling into Place by Amy Zhang – It’s been about five years since this came out and I read it, and I still haven’t stopped thinking about it. Falling into Place is an emotional read told in flashbacks that deals heavily with mental illness.

Fergus Crane by Paul Stewart – Please tell me I’m not the only one that loved this book/series as a kid! It’s so quirky, fun, and filled with absolutely fantastic illustrations! I remember reading it several times, and now that I’m thinking about it again, I kind of want to do a reread.

Easy by Jordan S. Gray – Shayler is such a fun and outspoken character which makes Easy a worthwhile new adult read! I really hope Jordan S. Gray continues writing because I need more of her words.

Bad Girls with Perfect Faces by Lynn Weingarten – This is a book that will take you on an absolutely wild and thrilling ride. It’s such a good mystery and will keep you guessing until the end.

Sisters by Raina Telgemeier – I only recently discovered Raina Telgemeier, and I’m now a life long fan. Once I started reading her graphic novels, I could. not. stop. Sisters is a memoir and it’s so funny and relatable.

Hope Nation edited by Rose Brock – Hope Nation is so powerful and horribly underrated. I was actually shocked when I saw how few of my friends on Goodreads have read it. This book hit me in a big way and was inspirational.

Wintergirls by Laurie Halse Anderson – Hands down my favorite Laurie Halse Anderson book. I was in high school when I first read this and it was so relatable and really helped me through a tough period of my life.

The Color Project by Sierra Abrams – Please read this book! Please? Sierra Abrams’ writing is beautiful and Levi and Bee are to die for. If you do read it, which I really hope you do, make sure you listen to the songs that accompany each chapter.

Eragon by Christopher Paolini – Eragon blew me away when I was younger. The fact that Christopher Paolini was homeschooled like I was inspired me so much. I can’t tell you the number of times I’ve read Eragon because I honestly don’t know, but it’s a lot. Funnily enough though, I haven’t actually finished the series. I bought Inheritance at midnight when it was released, but I’ve been too nervous to read it.

The Last Time We Say Goodbye by Cynthia Hand – If you’re looking for an emotional read, this is it. It’s an important read that deals with what it’s like to be left behind when somebody you love commits suicide.

The Infinite Moment of Us by Lauren Myracle – There seem to be a lot of mixed reviews on this one, but I personally loved it. The Infinite Moment of Us was such a swoon worthy summertime read.

Frost Like Night by Sara Raasch – The Snow Like Ashes trilogy is one of the few fantasy series that I am head over heels in love with. I’ve read all three books twice and loved them all every single time. Sara Raasch is an incredible author and she ended the series so well.
